Team Airsoft 8-28

Today is August 30th and in this (late) note...

Airsoft. Finally I was able to go to the field with my new camera and take some shots. Not many great ones but I really wanted to play also.

Mark spotting the troops coming in to re-take the flag position.

Mark and Will take aim with their Ares Tavor, KWA MP7, and Tokyo Mauri VSR 10

The game is over and the troop successfully defend the flag position and carry it with pride back to base

Letdown.

7:30 AM Saturday morning. I awoke with a start thinking I was late for class... I remembered I was going to head to the Airsoft field (http://www.teamairsoft.com/) and play some and do some photography. 7:35 I'm completely up, my eyes are drooping, the air is chilled, my mind draws a card from the deck of things I forget easily... We only have three cars and all of them are already taken today... My next thought, I'll go to the Relay For Life event and do some photography and make an article on it... I remembered, still dont have a car...
So here are some old pictures I like.

Today is August 14th and in this note...

This guy had a mask based off the video game "Army of Two" and an mp5k with an OD green stock, an OD green grip and a suppressor. He told me later during the night game that he painted both the stock and grip himself.

I like this cause the kid looks really interested in this guys gear... I know I was. He has nice gear, a nice weapon, a nice mask and not to mention a sweet mohawk underneath it all!

The mini mini gun the field admin. mounted onto a turret and then mounted onto the top of a Ford Bronco.
It rolls out when its team calls out an airstrike and they shoot at everything that moves. If you want to take it out, it must be hit with a M203 grenade launcher. For fun they let people ride in the back.

There are tons of bunkers and houses and such on the field but this is my favorite point (for now). The plane crash site next to the land bridge. One day I noticed they had walls around it and it was really bunkered down, but recently they took it all down and just went back to the plane body. I still have yet to have a firefight while taking cover in it...

Double Take.

Today is August 12th (I am now 17!) and in this note...

"That picture is blurry it is bad." Double take. Just because it is blurry doesn't necessarily mean it is bad. I purposely used the manual focus to do this and take this picture as my brother went around on the little thing in the park. And i actually like the position of the shot and the blur. Just because something seems harsh at first doesnt mean it necessarily is...

Life is full of tunnels and bridges. We have to make decisions to arrive at the destination, and hopefully your destination and travel will both be pleasant! Here is an admission ticket, go on in and find your way happily.

(side note, rarely I edit my photos. If I do I make them brighter or black and white)

In This Note, Photography intro.

"The world just does not fit conveniently into the format of a 35mm camera."  ~W. Eugene Smith

Eighth grade was the first year I remember learning about photography and actually using a digital camera. Today I am a senior (16, 17 tomorrow actually) and two weeks ago I purchased my first SLR, a Canon T1i. Yes I would recommend it to anyone, but this blog isn't to review or talk about the camera.

Now that  I have had some experience with a SLR I simply love it! As a senior I need to be thinking about what I want to do with my future and at this moment Photo Journalism is in my future. I'm a fan of abstract and war photography (If you haven't seen "Shooting Robert King" look it up. Its a great documentary following war photographer Robert King through three wars). Being embedded with the military for a news group or working with TIME or National Geographic is my goal at the moment.

As for now, I take abstract photos, nature photos, production photos (check out my groups studio on youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/lightfootstudio) and airsoft photos. Airsoft is a game or sport or hobby (whatever you may call it) that is military based, also called milsim (military simulation) (if you want to see more check out http://www.youtube.com/user/scoutthedoggie)

From now on I will mainly be posting a picture or two whenever I feel like it (for now) and talk about where what and why. It may be airsoft, it may be abstract, it may be people, or it may be production, who really knows. All pictures are taken by myself. If you want to use them contact me first! Do not take these images.

Today is August 11th 2010 and in this note...

The Local park has some signs banning swimming. The signs are dirty and scratched and have character. This photo reminds me of how most people would not take a second glance at these signs, but how the photo is taken they are shown in a new light.
